More About the Founder of Joyful Manna Ministries...

Pastor Phillip Ping is a veteran in the United States Army. He trained as a helicopter mechanic and was honorably discharged. In 1970, after leaving the Army, he was employed by Chrysler Corporation for 17 years. During that time, he started his own tree business. Today, Ping’s Tree Service, Inc. has morphed into one of the largest tree companies in Indiana. Pastor Ping is an accomplished, Certified Arborist and sits on the Marion County Tree Board as a consulting Arborist. Business ownership has allowed him the joy of helping ministries around the world. He has shared the gospel in Egypt, Jordan, Romania, and the Ukraine. He earned his Master Degree in Ministry at Colorado Theological Seminary. Saved in 1973, Pastor Ping has served in several positions in the church before answering his calling in ministry. He served as an associate to three different pastors with over 15 years in those supportive services. He also held various roles such as a Bus Ministry Worker, Sunday School Teacher, Junior Pastor, and Teen Pastor. He then answered the Lord’s call to plant a church, Joyful Manna Fellowship. Pastor Ping lost his wife, Stephanie Ping, in October of 2011 to ovarian cancer. Stephanie is greatly missed. Sadly, five years after the passing of his wife, his daughter Victoria, was brutally murdered in her home. He understands more-than-ever what it means to be acquainted with sorrow and grief. Pastor Ping is the father of three daughters and one son. He is also blessed with nine granddaughters and three grandsons. He is a very accomplished business man, powerful preacher, leader in the community, wonderful father, and grandfather. He is one of the most generous people you will ever meet. He is dedicated to the Lord’s service and will continue to humbly and faithfully serve Him until he is called home.
